Stanford – Hoover Pavilion
A 1,000 car parking structure and a future medical office building in a redesigned mini-campus form the first phase of expansion at the Stanford University Medical Center. Site design by BFS Landscape Architects creates a contemporary landscape that respects the Hoover Pavilion, an Art Deco building, that has undergone a complete renovation that anchors this site. Major landscape features on this 8 acre site include an outdoor plaza and pedestrian landscape linking the three buildings, and a courtyard garden featuring a bioswale and a grove of mature redwood trees. Related site strategies include preservation and relocation of major site trees for landscape heritage, and reorganized vehicular circulation and surface parking.
