Sacred Heart Schools Campus Expansion and Library

The new elementary and middle school campus  is designed to reflect a new standard for sustainable design and integrated storm water management.  The Net-Zero-rated library is a standout in this effort.  All of the library’s systems, including lighting, heating, and water use require no net input from outside sources. To achieve the Net-Zero water goal, greywater is collected from three new buildings and routed to a greywater tank and filtration system, and then to the library bathroom. Rainwater is collected from the library roof and stored in an above ground tank, with interactive information about the system design and current operation.  This water is used to irrigate the fruit orchard in the library courtyard.
