An overall fluid site design accentuates the movement of water throughout the Marina campus of the Monterey Peninsula College. Rainwater falls from down spouts into ornamental splash pads before crossing paved areas through a series of channels into landscaped swales. Some of these channels are directed to tree wells as irrigation water.
Site forms are soft and curvilinear with walks and benches forming gently sweeping curves similar to water flowing through sand. The planting palette responds to the site characteristics of cool summer temperatures, summer fog and sandy soil.
