The preservation of the existing native oaks was essential to the site design at Crocker Middle and North Elementary Schools in Hillsborough, California. Their structural beauty became the focus for the new entry and drop-off area, as well as a mature background for the new tech center at Crocker Middle and the multi-purpose room at North Elementary. Native shrubs and groundcovers were added to provide seasonal color and erosion control on steep slopes, with new oak trees planted for future generations to enjoy.
