Fallon Sports Park – Phase 3

Fallon Sports Park is the City of Dublin’s premier sports facility. The 60-acre park includes various ball fields, synthetic turf soccer fields, basketball, tennis, bocce ball, and BMX course, as well as picnic, play areas and restrooms.

BFS was retained in 2019 to provide design and working drawings for Phase 3, which included two additional little league ballfields, a playground area, four sand volleyball courts, a large 5-bay lighted batting cage, and a cricket pitch and field.

Noting the growing demographics of cricket players, the City Council held a series of discussions with community leagues and semi-pro representatives, and decided to replace the two planned little league fields with a new dedicated cricket pitch/field.

The cricket pitch was built with natural grass and clay under the direction of local cricket experts. It is sized to allow up to 5 different pitching areas to be rotated in use and allow for areas to be rehabilitated. The batting cages offer baseball, softball, and cricket use, and include two types of synthetic turf surfacing.

Existing infrastructure from Phases 1 and 2 was used for the Phase 3 systems, including tying into two separate recycled water zones for irrigation.
