Older synthetic fields across the state are undergoing replacement of play surfaces to provide improved performance and safety. BFS Landscape Architects prepared plans and specifications for the refurbishment of two synthetic turf fields at San José City College (SJCC) and Evergreen Valley College (EVC) campuses. At the SJCC, the project included cleaning and re-striping the running track, replacement of a full-size football scoreboard and sponsor panels, new goalposts, and replacement of other track-related equipment. BFS initially assisted the District in evaluating the CMAS process as an alternate method of installing the two projects; however, they were ultimately successfully competitively bid.
